Something that at the beginning was supposed to be just a practice of portraits transformed into a bigger composition and idea. I often work in this way – starting from one element that catches my attention (in this case the girl’s staring eyes and expression) and later letting my imagination free, expanding, and adding elements. I invite you to find your own interpretation of this piece:)
Graphite on Bristol paper. 21×29.7cm (A4).

This is a story that trees only know
A secret kept beneath the ground
Nature’s daughter who couldn’t say “no”
And followed a tempting sound
The call of power stronger than will
Promises she could not resist
Standing by you always we will
Just one more step voices insist
Go and seek for forbidden tree
To the worlds you crave gate
A little further and you’ll be free
Thus there awaits your fate
She turned away from Mother’s lands
Escaped from vows once made
Now between two worlds she stands
The debt she took must be paid
A little voice like bird’s song
An echo from the past
Dear, you know where you belong
This illusive dream won’t last
